Jacksepticeye, who is already largely known for his charity live streams, is raising money for, is raising money for the #HopefromHome campaign on World Health Day. This is to help support the frontline workers who help fight the coronavirus. The fundraiser took place across many other social media platforms besides YouTube, such as Facebook, and TikTok.Friends of Sean that are YouTubers, entertainers on other platforms, and social media influencers also joined in on the fundraiser with about $1.7 million raised overall for Covid-19 relief. With his already set goal of $300,000, Jacksepticeye (also known as Sean McLoughlin) was shown surprise when he got a third of his goal in less than an hour, later reaching $200,000 in the next 30 minutes and $400,000 in the next hour.

At the final mark of his 12-hour long stream, Jacksepticeye reported having raised $654,884.10, and would be processed through the fundraising platform Tiltify, and will be evenly split across the charities of United Way Worldwide; the United Nations Foundation’s Covid-19, Thw Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, The Comic Relief US’s Red Nose Day, according to a news post from United Way Worldwide.From this same source, Sean was also reportedly the main organizer for the event and ended up writing to his seven million followers on Instagram after the stream was over,
“Words cannot express how crazy today was. I am so emotionally overwhelmed but I have nothing but love and gratitude to all of those who donated and made such a huge difference today.”
For those that were unable to watch and or sit through the stream itself, Jacksepticeye sill says that there is a way to still donate using the website, as it will be open for while after the stream has ended. Donations will be accepted until late April, with his expressed hope of breaking the 2 million dollar mark before the month is over. Many online gamers and companies have seen it upon themselves to donating towards coronavirus relief and aid.
