You Can Now Play FIFA on Netflix

Netflix began their journey into the gaming industry a few years ago. They began small with mobile games related to popular titles on their service like Stranger Things and simple games like Shooting Hoops and Card Blast. Each customer regardless of their plan has access to these games, no additional fees or in-app purchases necessary, and they are available for download on iOS and Android. This feature became officially available for every customer globally as of November 2021.

As of recently, Netflix decided to upgrade their gaming endeavor. Customers can now play games on their TVs while using their phones as controllers. The same conditions apply as before, anyone is able to join in on the fun so long as they are subscribed to Netflix, and the controller is available for all in the app store.

The streaming service has added different titles for families to enjoy in their “Party Games” campaign such as Boggle Party, LEGO Party, Pictionary: Game Night, and more. They even have Overcooked! All You Can Eat, the popular cooking game where pairs have to work together in order to get orders correct and served in a timely fashion.

Knowing how large of a crowd FIFA World Cup draws in, Netflix even teamed up with Delphi Interactive to create a new simulation game revolving around it. This may come as a surprise to soccer fans due to the devastating split EA had with FIFA in 2022 over licensing disagreements. FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition is available for a test launch as of June 4th 2026 in Brazil and Germany, though the full roll out will be available in more countries including but not limited to: “United States, Canada, the UK, France, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, and Switzerland”.

Netflix also makes a promise to keep the game up to date with the World Cup:

The Launch Edition of this new game represents the kickoff — a streamlined, high-energy version of the game focused on immediate fun. As the tournament progresses and the FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition community grows, Netflix will lay on depth, complexity, and technical refinements to updated versions.
