One of the most critically acclaimed titles in recent years has finally made its way to the Nintendo Switch. Platinum Game’s NieR: Automata has, at long last, launched for Nintendo’s flagship console to the delight of fans around the world. To celebrate this occasion, Creative Director Yoko Taro released a “statement” on Twitter, thanking the fans for their enduring support. Taro also mentions that he has been sent to a “factory deep underground” which apparently houses a “large number of game creators” who are being forced to create new games for Square Enix.
This is, of course, the signature Yoko Taro way of celebrating. Taro is known for his eccentric and dramatic style, which is usually seen whenever Tato is out in the public. He goes about this by wearing a mask that is reminiscent of Emil from the game itself at every single public event that the studio is associated with. Series Producer Yosuke Saito also chimed in, saying that they have succeeded in creating an A.I. that will allow Taro to “work on new games without getting bogged down.”
This could potentially lead to a new title and a new IP from the famous creator, but knowing how Taro operates, it’ll more than likely be a while until we hear anything about it. As we mentioned earlier, NieR: Automata is now on the Nintendo Switch, and it’s the NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition to be exact, which contains all of the additional content that was released after the title launched in 2017. NieR: Automata was one of the most lauded titles that year, and went on to be nominated for several Game of the Year awards, and ended up winning the Best Score/Music at The Game Awards 2017.
