xCloud Being tested By Capcom And Other Developers

It’s been awhile since Microsoft has released any big news about their new cloud streaming service xCloud. The most recent update we received was that it has completed take home releases by its development team. Aside from that, there is still not much known about the project and how it’s fairing development wise.

The service was initially revealed last year at E3 2018, and with E3 rolling around this year Microsoft has released another tidbit of info about their ambitious project. Gaming cloud VP for Microsoft, Kareem Choudhry, stated within an update that they have sent out xCloud tech to 13 Azure regions. This was to give game developers like Capcom and Paradox Interactive to test some of their titles on xCloud service.

The news that Capcom and Microsoft are working together in regards to cloud services came as a bit of a surprise, but Capcom has already been working on streaming games within it’s Japanese market so it isn’t too far fetched. The  about the details of their partnership are not currently known, but this recent development shows that Capcom could be all in for the new streaming service.

Microsoft also points out that Project xCloud has the potential to stream more than 3,500 games across the three generations of Xbox. And, if any of the Xbox One versions of these games were to be updated, then would populate across xCloud immediately without any changes or modifications needed to be done by developers or any downloads needed by players.

As for future titles coming to the Xbox One, Microsoft stated that it currently has 1,900 titles in development that could be put onto the xCloud platform with no problem at all. Microsoft also expressed how that developers will be able to work normally creating their games while they do the work to bring the game to xCloud.
