One of Microsoft’s exclusive titles is no longer that, exclusive. The Medium will be officially making its way to Sony’s PlayStation 5 later this year on September 3. In addition to this, the game will be getting a full physical release as well with boxed versions of the game coming on the same day for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions. On top of that, the PlayStation 5 version of The Medium will also feature “full DualSense controller support” with haptic feedback.

Developer Bloober Team will also be releasing a special new physical edition that day, The Medium: Two Worlds Special Launch Edition. This edition will come with the game, a steelbook, the game’s soundtrack, and an artbook. The Medium originally launched in January of this year, and while it did have a bit of a mixed reception, it still found itself a cult following. The fact that it’s receiving this much of a new release for the PlayStation 5 is a testament this.
While not a huge blow to the Xbox exclusive list, it does make that group a little bit smaller when compared to the Sony exclusive library. It’s also important to note that those who have a subscription to Microsoft Xbox Game Pass can still download this title for no extra cost. The Medium is about a spirit medium named Marianne who’s able to travel between the world of the living and the dead. You take control of Marianne and solve puzzled in a horror genre environment in order to solve the murder mystery of a young girl.
The Medium will officially launch for the PlayStation 5 on September 3. It is available now for the Xbox Series X/Series S and PC.
