Xbox E3 2019 Briefing Reveals 60 Games, Project xCloud, Project Scarlett & More

Today, Microsoft had their Xbox E3 2019 Briefing. They teased that they had a lot to share and they did. The Xbox Briefing highlighted 60 games, 14 from games Xbox Game Studios, 34 games premiering on Xbox Game Pass, Project xCloud, and Project Scarlett. Here is a rundown of everything that happened during the Xbox Briefing:

The first trailer that was showed was a release date trailer for The Outer Worlds. The trailer gave everyone a taste of what the story will be about. The Outer Worlds releases on October 25, 2019, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Ninja Theory came out and officially revealed the recently leaked Bleeding Edge, a 4v4 online melee combat game. They also announced that they will be holding a Technical Alpha for the game that starts on June 27.

Ori and The Will of the Wisps had a new trailer that highlighting several boss encounters. The trailer ended with a release date of February 11, 2020.

Minecraft Dungeons was revealed. It is an action-adventure game that supports 4-player local and online co-op. It is coming in Spring 2020.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer came out and discussed what this year’s briefing is all about which he said “this moment isn’t just about finding some new games, it’s about discovering your new games This decisive moment of discovery is etched in your gaming history alongside your every achievement, your every moment, your every new friend. This is why we at team Xbox are always and will be dedicated to unleashing the next new games for you to discover and love”

After premiering the first gameplay at EA Play, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order got a new trailer showing more footage of what players can expect to encounter on Kashyyyk.

Blair Witch was announced. The trailer teased the story as someone who goes into the woods with a dog companion to search for a missing girl.

Cyberpunk 2077 got a new cinematic trailer that revealed several things. First, the end of the trailer revealed that Keanu Reeves is a part of the game, then he surprised everyone by coming out on stage and talked about why he became a part of the game. (This was easily the most hyped, exciting moment of the briefing. Everyone in the Theatre got up and started cheering when he came out, and that excitement continued as he was presenting.) Cyberpunk 2077 releases April 16, 2020.

Several smaller titles were revealed. SpiritFarer, developed by Thunder Lotus was announced. a new trailer was Battletoads was revealed which highlighted the beat em up action of the game. A new game with a beautiful art style was announced. The game is called RPG Time: The Legend of Wright and it is coming in 2020.

ID at Xbox games took center stage as several games were highlighted in a sizzle reel trailer. Head of Xbox Partnerships Sarah Bond came out to talk about Xbox Game Pass. She announced several new games available for Xbox Game Pass today, Batman: Arkham Knight, Metro: Exodus, Hallow Knight, and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. Imperator: Rome and Football Manager 2019 were announced for Xbox Game Pass for PC. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also available for Xbox Game Pass for PC starting with Halo: Reach. Xbox Game Pass for PC is available today in open beta. It costs $9.99 a month. Sara Bond then discussed Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. For $14.99, gamers can get Xbox Game Pass for Consoles, Xbox Live Gold, and Xbox Game Pass for PC at no additional charge.

Microsoft Flight Simulator and Age of Empires II Definitive Edition were announced. Players will be able to experience one of the most played strategy games ever now in 4k, fully remastered audio and an all-new campaign. Wasteland 3 also received a trailer highlighting the setting of the game.

Double Fine was announced as a new member of Xbox Game Studios. A new trailer for Psychonauts 2 was revealed. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was announced. It features all 9 nine films and is coming in 2020.

The Dragon Ball game Project Z Action RPG was re-revealed with a new trailer as Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. It is coming early 2020.

12 Minutes was announced. It is an interactive thriller being published by Annapurna Interactive. A new trailer for Way to the Woods was revealed. The game is set to come out in 2020.

Gears 5 shared a new trailer. Rod Fergusson, the studio head of the Coalition announced that it is releasing on September 10. He also shared news of what to expect before the release of Gears 5. They will be having a versus multiplayer tech test on July 17 where players can experience the new multiplayer game type, Arcade. At Gamescom, they will be showcasing Horde Mode. They also revealed Gears 5: Escape. 3 friends team up together to plant a bomb against the hive and try to escape. A Terminator Dark Fate bonus character pack was also revealed.

A trailer for the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 detailed everything new such as adjustable-tension thumbsticks, new trigger grip, and redesigned bumpers, shorter hair trigger locks, wrap-around rubberized grips and more.

Dying Light 2 had a new trailer showcasing the story and main character of the game. Forza Horizon 4 is getting a new expansion called Lego Speed Champions and it is releasing on June 13. Gears Pop got a new trailer that reveals how the game will be played.

State of Decay 2: Heartland was announced as a new expansion for State of Decay 2. It’s a brand new story experience that features two different paths.

Phantasy Star Online 2, Japan’s Greatest Online RPG is coming to the West via Xbox One. Phil Spencer announced a new partnership with Smilegate and shared a new trailer for their new game, Crossfire X coming in 2020.

Tales of Arise was announced with a release date of 2020. Borderlands 3 got a new trailer. Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary was announced. This is a free, Borderlands 2 Adventure that sets the stage for Borderlands 3. It is available today but requires The Handsome Collection.

Elden Ring, the next game from From Software was officially announced after being leaked before today. It is in partnership with George R.R. Martin, creator of the Game of Thrones series.

Phil Spencer came back out and discussed Project xCloud. He announced Console Streaming which turns your Xbox console into a personal and free Xcloud server. Project xCloud is going to be available in October.

He then ended the Briefing with new details about Project Scarlett, which will have a number of significant hardware upgrades. Project Scarlett is coming Holiday 2020 and the last game revealed was Halo: Infinite which will launch with Project Scarlett.
