In case you missed it, yesterday, PlayStation removed Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store and is offering refunds for the game. Today, two more companies announced that they would be doing the same. Xbox and Best Buy released statements saying that they would be changing their return policies so their customers could return Cyberpunk 2077 if they want to. CD Projekt Red also released an update regarding the retail refunds that they announced they would do prior to PlayStation delisting the game from their store.
Cyberpunk 2077: To ensure that every player can get the experience they expect on Xbox, we will be expanding our existing refund policy to offer full refunds to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 digitally from the Microsoft Store, until further notice. https://t.co/04TcniwVzy

Xbox said: “While we know the developers at CD Projekt Red have worked hard to ship Cyberpunk 2077 in extremely challenging circumstances, we also realize that some players have been unhappy with the current experience on older consoles.” Xbox also reiterated that they make sure that those who ask for a refund get their money back.
“Obviously, Cyberpunk 2077 had a ton of anticipation coming into its release, and while I’ve not played it myself, it would appear that perhaps for some, it hasn’t lived up completely to that anticipation, ” the Senior Social Media Specialist at Best Buy said. “While many are enjoying the game, and it appears that there is a patch coming on 12/21/2020 that should hopefully improve the game even further, we can certainly understand why some might be wanting to return the game, even after it is opened and played.” Best Buy said that they are allowing for returns of the game through December 21 as CD Projekt announced that date as the deadline to provide proof of purchase to get a return from them directly.

CD Projekt Red said that it is their intention “for every owner of a physical copy, or a digital copy bought at retail, who has valid proof of purchase (and sends us an email at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com within the time window) to receive a refund.” They also said that they will do it out of their pocket if necessary. If you have a digital version, you have to follow the refund process of each respective platform.
