For all of its issues and problems over the past few years XBOX has been dealing with, one thing everyone in the gaming community agrees on is how great XBOX’s backward compatibility has been as an avenue for game preservation. Since its release, backward compatibility has only been available on the consoles, allowing XBOX owners to play original XBOX and XBOX 360 titles on the latest hardware. Now, XBOX has announced that the backward compatibility program will be making its way to PC.

XBOX backward compatibility launches in early release, with four classic original XBOX games, now playable on PCs and handhelds like the ROG XBOX Ally and XBOX Ally X. The four games available now include: BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy.
Players can purchase these titles on PC and are also included in all XBOX Game Pass plans. If a player already owns a digital license for any of the games on console, that license will carry over to PC and handheld.
In addition to the games coming to PC for the first time ever, XBOX has also added new features to enhance the experience on PC while preserving the original gameplay. This includes customizing graphic settings, including up to 4x resolution upscaling, VSync support, Fullscreen and Windowed display modes, anisotropic filtering, enhanced anti-aliasing, and more. Achievements will be added to select original XBOX games on both console and PC later this year. More features will be added to XBOX backward compatibility games in the future.
Players will be able to access these titles through the XBOX on PC app with these minimum system requirements.
