Wuthering Waves For PlayStation 5 And 2.0 Update To Release January 2025

Developer Kuro Games has announced that their flagship open world action role-playing game Wuthering Waves is being ported to the PlayStation 5. The announcement has come by the Wuthering Waves official X account and a release date has been set for January 5 2025. A 2.0 update will be released for the PC and Mobile versions of the game alongside the PlayStation 5 release of the game.

In Wuthering Waves you assume the role of Rover; Rover is an individual with the unique power to ‘resonate’ and manipulate objects and their frequencies. The game takes place in the post-world of Solaris-3 according to Gematsu. Some other resonators players will get to use in the game’s combat system are Aalto, Baizhi, Calcharo, Camellya, Changli, Chixia, Danjin, Encore, Jianxin, Jinhsi, Jiyan, Lingyang, Mortefi, Sanhua, The Shorekeeper, Taoqi, Verina, Xiangli Yao, Yangyang, Yinlin, Youhu, Yuanwu, and Zhezhi.

According to the newly released trailer detailing the 2.0 update, the PlayStation 5 version is nearing the end of its development cycle. The primary focus of Kuro Games new year release is the new carnival themed environment Rinascita. Game Rant reports that a leaked source has hinted at new story elements, including a new antagonist and new cast of characters including Phoebe, Brant, Roccia, Zani, and Carlotta.

Wuthering Waves is free to play, however the PlayStation 5 version will retail for 9.99 on the PlayStation Store when it releases. Preordering the game will earn you various in-game items as reported by Rpg Site.

Wuthering Waves has been nominated for mobile game of the year at this year’s Game Awards 2024, highlighting the passion behind the project and recognition that it is a stand out action role playing game. It may be likely that the interest surrounding Wuthering Waves will only increase with the release of PlayStation 5 port and 2.0 update at the start of the next year.
