When it comes to miracles in gaming, they rarely happen. But even if there’s a slight possibility of a miracle, there’s hope. And a miracle has just taken place, as Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will be officially receiving a sequel. As the new owners of the IP, 505 Games, which acquired it from Leenzee Games in April, have now announced its revival. The crazy part is that the original creator of the game will be heading the sequel. As 505 Games and a newly formed studio, Indolphinity, which was founded by Xia Siyuan, the creator of Wuchang, announced a partnership between both studios, and the first thing on the list is a Wuchang: Fallen Feathers sequel that’s going to be bigger and even better than before. There’s no timeline for when the sequel will be officially shown; all we know is that it’s entered its preparation phase, so it’s going to be a while before we see anything concrete.
WUCHANG’s story is far from over.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a Souls-like game originally developed by Leenzee Games, headed by Xia Siyuan, and was well received overall. As of July 29th, 2026, the game has sold over 5 million copies across consoles. Developed in China, it took inspiration from Chinese mythology, making it a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, a year after its release, the game’s development team was disbanded, and Xia Siyuan, the creator, was let go. Then, fast-forward to April 2026: Digital Bros buys the Wuchang IP from Leenzee Games for 4.6 million USD. And on July 29th, 505 Games announced a partnership with Indolphinity to develop a sequel to Wuchang, spearheaded by the original creator, Xia Siyuan.
“Today, we’re excited to share that 505 Games has officially entered into a new partnership with Xia Siyuan, the original creator of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, and his new studio Indolphinity (Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology), to jointly create a brand‑new chapter of the WUCHANG IP.”
There isn’t much known about what the sequel will look like, but Indolphinity will be the creative driving force for the game while 505 Games will provide funding and global publishing. And that future development will be primarily in China. “As of now, the WUCHANG sequel has officially entered its preparation phase: Indolphinity will lead the creative development, while 505 Games will provide funding and global publishing. Future development will remain firmly rooted in China.”
It’s awesome to see that not only will a new IP receive a sequel, but its original creator will be behind it. It sucks that it probably won’t be the entire team behind the game, but with Xia Siyuan spearheading it, it will live up to its sequel title. The game is barely in the preparation phase, so it will be a long time before anything tangible is shown to the public, so we can only wait and see what a sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will look like. But we do have Xia Siyuan’s words about the sequel.
“We listen closely to the real voices of players and the community, and we remain firmly devoted to our original creative aspirations and cultural foundations, striving to answer everyone’s long‑standing expectations with more polished quality and a more complete experience.”
