Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a souls-like action-RPG by Leenzee that was released back in 2025. Wuchang: Fallen Feather IP has now been officially acquired by Digital Bros for approximately 4.6 million USD. Digital Bros is the parent company of 505 Games, which originally published the game, so now with this new purchase of the IP and for this much money, it’s safe to say that Wuchang: Fallen Feathers IP is not down as most likely there will be future titles in the series and possible DLC for the game later down the line either way the IP isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon.
It was not that long ago that 505 Games celebrated the achievement of the game selling over 1 million copies, which is said to have generated $35.1 million in revenue. Now with this acquisition, this will “enhance the Group’s ability to make timely decisions regarding [the game’s] future development and related investments.” Digital Bros will also state in a press statement that “The Transaction secures full ownership of the IP for the Group, enabling full retention of the value generated throughout its lifecycle and eliminating any future royalty obligations to the developer.” They also state that the acquisition won’t “have a significant impact on the business outlook for the current fiscal year previously disclosed to the market.”
Wuchang: Fallen Feather was released back in July of 2025 with an all-time peak of 86,000 players on just Steam alone. It also received lots of mixed reviews, but overall, it was a successful game. But it wasn’t long before tragedy struck: the team behind the game was unfortunately dissolved, and the game’s director, Xia Siyuan, was let go due to internal disputes over leadership changes. But now the IP is in the hands of another company, so there’s hope that the creative minds behind the game will be able to reunite and create more content for the game or a possible sequel. Either way, it looks like Wuchang: Fallen Feathers isn’t going anywhere now.
