World of Warcraft Getting Audio Drama To Lead Into New Legion Expansion

According to Polygon, yesterday at Comic-Con’s “Warcraft: The Road to Legion” panel, Blizzard Entertainment announced that they will be entering a new form of media for World of Warcraft. On August 1st, the publisher will be releasing an audio drama called Tomb of Sargeras. This will feature iconic WOW music, mixed with sound effects from the game and speech from the characters.

Tomb of Sargeras provides the perfect introduction to World of Warcraft: Legion, as its expansion pack is set to be released. This audio delight will narrate the story of Guldan, the orc warlock, opening portals to Azeroth and granting an army of demons access to raid the planet. This series will total to four free podcast episodes.

Tomb of Sargeras is now available for subscription on iTunes, as well as, other prominent media services. Subscription allows WOW devotees to preview a snippet of the first episodes.

James Waugh, Blizzard’s creative developer, anticipates more audio dramas coming in the future.

We’re really excited about this internally. If the community likes it, we’ll probably try to do more.

Warcraft’s sixth expansion pack, Legion, releases August 30th on PC and Mac. With each expansion the fandom continues to grow as it attracts new players from all generations. Warcraft will continue to be a staple of MMO gaming for years to come.
