It’s been less than 24 hours since Blizzard Entertainment unleashed their newest expansion for World of Warcraft, Battle for Azeroth, and things have been hectic to say the least. The company went live with the expansion at 3:00 pm PST on Monday, August 13, only for a plethora of players to immediately contact Blizzards Customer Support due to the fact that they couldn’t log into the game. In addition, some players reported that their launch screen wasn’t showing up at all, as well as in-game lag for those who were able to log in.
These kinds of issues are expected when an online-only game adds any updates, and whenever a new piece of playable content goes live for the servers. However, a lot of people were expecting Blizzard to be more prepared for this, so much so that they have been making complaints to their customer service department on their twitter page. At some point, one of the techs running the twitter account had enough, and responded to one of the complaints in glorious fashion. While it is understandable that some people are upset over these issues, this isn’t the first time Blizzard has been through the ringer with WoW connection problems. The company has been working non-stop since the expansion went live, and has been updating the status of these problems since they began. It’s safe bet that it won’t be long until they have them sorted out. Not everyone experienced these problems and were able to play the game right away. In fact, one player, named Gingi, was able to become the first WoW player to hit the level cap of 120 in just under 5 hours after Battle for Azeroth launched. Talk about the dedication for that experience grind. The expansion adds ridiculous amount of ways to level up and discover new zones. The story of Battle for Azeroth has gained some serious momentum in recent weeks, specifically with the actions taken by Horde Warchief: Sylvanas. The war between the Alliance and the Horde has officially begun, as the burning of Teldrassil has shaken up the foundation of Azeroth permanently. The Alliance is staging their counterattack on the Horde, and this is the point where the expansions story begins. Where it goes from here is anyone’s guess, but one thing is for certain, no one is coming out of this without some scars.
Battle for Azeroth is now live on all World of Warcraft servers. If you still aren’t sure about jumping into the massive MMORPG, you can always give it a try by downloading it and playing for free until level 20.
