Wolfenstein: Youngblood Has A Different Version Of The Original Wolfenstein 3D

One of the more unique and fun things that the recent Wolfenstein games have done is include a playable version of the classic Wolfenstein game, Wolfenstein 3D. In Wolfenstein: The New Order, it came about in the form of a nightmare. In The Old Colossus, it was an arcade cabinet. The most recent Wolfenstein game, Youngblood also has the classic Wolfenstein 3D experience, albeit with twist.

In Wolfenstein: Youngblood, players can explore their base in the catacombs. You’ll find the arcade cabinet in a bar. There, players will be able to play Elite Hans: Die Neue Ordnung. It’s the Nazi’s take on the game where players will assume the role of a Nazi against Allied forces. The developers had a little fun with this as “Die Neue Ordnung” translates to “The New Order” which is what the first of the recent set of Wolfenstein games that came out in 2014. Instead of the villians speaking German and shouting “mein leben”! they speak in English and shout things like “look out!” or “my life”.  There is also a funny moment in-game where resistance members talk about how they should make the game from the Allies’ perspective and call it Wolfenstein 3D.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood follows the story of Jess and Soph Blazkowicz, the twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz, the protagonist of the Wolfenstein franchise. The daughters are on the hunt searching for their father in Paris. Wolfenstein: Youngblood is very different from the previous entries into the franchise. There are newly added RPG elements and more freedom in exploration; And for the first time in the series, the game is playable in co-op. Players will be able to explore Paris and take on Nazis to level up which unlocks a variety of things such as new abilities, weapon attachments, gadgets, cosmetics and more.  While Wolfenstein: Youngblood is the latest Wolfenstein game, it has been confirmed that Wolfenstein III will be coming sometime in the future with the story centered around BJ Blazkowicz again.  Wolfenstein: Youngblood is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
