Edge of Eternities takes place somewhere in the far-flung corners of the Multiverse, where a crew of intrepid heroes has come across the score of a lifetime. However, nothing is what it seems in the Sothera system; powerful forces lurk behind the scenes as they vie for galactic domination. And at the heart of it all is Sothera, the supervoid.
Edge of Eternities brings some things to MTG. Spacecrafts are a new type of Artifact. Powered by the station ability, which has players tap another creature they control to put charge counters on the Spacecraft, they can become devastating artifact creatures. Spacecraft artifacts also change things in Commander. Wizards of the Coast is updating the rules of Commander so that any legendary card with a printed power and toughness can be a player’s commander. This means that Legendary Vehicles such as legendary Spacecrafts can helm players’ commander decks.
There are two Commander decks for Edge of Eternities. Each deck will feature a borderless legendary creature as its face commander. Players can charge up their artifacts with Kilo, Apogee Mind, or bend the planets to their will with Szarel, Genesis Shepherd.
Shock lands are being reintroduced to Standard. Five will appear in Edge of Eternities.
Wizards of the Coast revealed that players will return to not one, but two fan-favorite planes next year. Attendees got the first look at Lorwyn Eclipsed, launching January 23, 2026. Wizards also revealed that Magic will also be returning to Strixhaven in Secrets of Strixhaven.
Wizards of the Coast also announced a new way to draft called Pick-Two. It’s a new draft experience – fast to start, quick to finish, and nonstop fun in between. The new format is all about less waiting, more playing: sit with friends, grab two cards a pass, and launch straight into the first match long before an eight-person pod settles in.
