What The Car? Is The Surprise New Sequel To What The Golf?

Triband, the Danish developers behind the amusingly ridiculous game, What the Golf? has announced and released brand new game What The Car? The game came as a surprise, with no prior teasers. What The Car? exclusively launched today on Apple Arcade, along with 19 other new games to Apple’s subscription service. With today’s 20 total new games to Apple Arcade, Apple shared  a brand new ad highlighting the subscription service, which included a cameo of the new mascot from What The Car?

Much like What The Golf? where you play on golf courses that only become more wacky in every new level, What The Car? takes the same formula and adds a racing element to the mix. You play as a car who runs with human legs on a small race course where each new level adds new absurd challenges. Each level also challenges players to go for bronze, silver, or gold based on the time they finish in each level.

Triband’s What The Golf? first released exclusively on Apple Arcade when the subscription first launched in 2019. It was resoundingly loved by players for the fun and comedic gameplay. It later released on Nintendo Switch in May 2020 and PC October 2020. Triband also released a VR exclusive game, What The Bat?, in November 2022 for Meta Quest 2, PlayStation VR2 and Steam. What The Bat? had players use baseball bats for hands, challenging them with even more wacky tasks.

Since releasing in 2019, What The Golf? has received numerous updates that’s only expanded the wild golf courses, from olympic games, to winter mode, and even Among Us inspired levels were added most recently last month. It would come as no surprise for What The Car? to receive similar future updates bringing new gameplay and challenges.

It’s unclear currently if What The Car? will come to any other platforms, but for now it remains an Apple Arcade exclusive.
