Watch Dogs: Legion Online Delayed Until Early 2021

Watch Dogs: Legion dropped on October 26 and was set to release their online mode by the end of 2020; however, in a recent statement from Ubisoft, this mode will be delayed until early 2021 with no specified date. With an original release date of December 3, Ubisoft wanted to prioritize its efforts in fixing many technical issues in the single-player mode before releasing the multiplayer. Since launch, Ubisoft has been busy attempting to fix game crashes, save fails, GPU, and 60 FPS problems. There was a Watch Dogs: Legion Post-launch Trailer released in early October to highlight the plans going forward.

Lathieeshe Thillainathan, Watch Dogs: Legion‘s Live Producer, gives players an insight into what the delay mode will be like once it’s released. The free online multiplayer mode will feature four-player co-op missions and players will be able to recruit anyone they see. Watch Dogs are also bringing back a fan-favorite Invasion game for online and a promise of continuous free updates. In the same announcement of the delay, Ubisoft mentions the on-going problems with the single-player mode.

The Watch Dogs: Legion 2.20 Title Update was released on November 26 to all PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The manual save button for PC is one of the biggest updates to come out of these updates as many players had problems with the game constantly crashing. Ubisoft also had additional crash fixes for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4. They are also tackling PC GPU performance as a high percentage of frames are being dropped. The other patches were various fixes for crashes that happened during specific missions.

Ubisoft has not announced the official release date for Watch Dogs: Legion online since its delay.
