Watch Dogs: Legion Adds New Permadeath Option with Latest Update

Watch Dogs: Legion continues to push out regular updates since it’s problematic launch with the various glitches and crashes. The latest update (title update 2.40) also included a new permadeath option for players to use. Permadeath in Watch Dogs: Legion is an option player can turn on or off and it means that when any operative receives enough damage they will die and be unavailable for the rest of the playthrough. However, once you turn it off in your playthrough, you cannot turn it back on.

The new permadeath option in the recent update allows players to retire Prestige Operatives. This option will allow you to have them in your team when you start a new playthrough. Players will not be able to unretire those operatives in the same playthrough, however. Many players wonder what happens when all your operative dies, Ubisoft says the game will end if all your operatives die and would have to start a new playthrough.

The title update also addresses multiple Xbox issues: fixed issue where the game would not save, fixed game crashes during driving, and gameplay. Ubisoft also fixed many PC issues: most notably, fix crashes during loading open world, controlling a drone, if an NPC died, and during a Spiderbot takedown.

The patch is now live today for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Google Stadia will be waiting for their update a little longer, Ubisoft to announce when it is live. Players are still waiting for an announcement on when exactly the delayed online component for Watch Dogs will be releasing as well.
