Ever envision taking up the role of a magical, bouncing ball-figure that has to avoid and defeat giants, mutants, and demon? Well, later this year the studio at Not Yet will give gamers that strange concept, but with fascinating lore and visuals. In WarriOrb the demon that you play as has been trapped in a body that is vastly diverse from the powers that they actually possess. In order to gain freedom from this ball-like form, players will have to guide the Spirit of the Unknown through peril and enemies in this artful platformer.
For sounding like a fairly simply concept, there are quite a few features that stand out that Not Yet has described and shown off in its regular streams. Yes, bouncing and rolling will be important movements, but unexpected traps that will test reflexes can pop up anywhere. The additional environment puzzles will challenge players to think on how their movements and items can be useful in a given situation. There will also be collectible items, weapons, clothing, and traders in-game that will be useful and improve skills.
The main question to start in WarriOrb is: How is such a powerful being in such a wimpy body? It turns out the Spirit of the Unknown had been summoned to another world and forcefully placed into an inconvenient ball-body. Luckily, the spirit’s powers allow it to spawn limbs and eyes, but for some reason where it is summoned turns out to be where individuals are blaming the spirit for a ritual gone wrong. The summoning was intended to bring the local Wizard’s daughter back to life and failed. There is no other option for the spirit to help resurrect this girl with the hope that afterwards the Wizard will set it free.
Not Yet is planning on getting PC Steam players bouncing and encountering strange creatures in WarriOrb at some point in Quarter 3 of this year.
