Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons Shows Off With 8 Minutes of Demo Gameplay at Gamescom 2026

Wizards of the Coast need to strike while the iron’s hot. On the heels of making quite the splash in the video game scene with Dungeons and Dragons adaptations, we’re about to get one more with a game about one of the more popular, and edgier, DnD classes in Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons by Invoke Studios, which got an awesome in-depth demo gameplay trailer at Gamescom 2026.

Warlock is an action adventure RPG where you take control of the titular warlock, using her bestowed upon powers to traverse environments by dissolving into a cloud of smoke, or using a magic anchor to pull objects towards you, or magic gusts of wind to blow enemies away. It really looks like a game that emphasizes the use of your environment to your advantage.

Of course, like any decent warlock build you’re not just good at blasting things, there’s also a pretty robust melee system in place as well. The warlock can take advantage of some martial training with sword swings to supplement her eldritch blasts, and shield blocks to protect her from enemy fighters.

All in all, it looks like a pretty fun time. If you’re interested in Dungeons and Dragons video games, I say give the Gamescom footage a quick watch and see if you vibe with it.

Derek Lairmore: I've been playing video games and writing my entire life, so naturally I decided to combine the two passions. I love video games and video game culture, as far back as I can remember I've not only played them, I've actively participated in their communities. I hope my history in this hobby and my enthusiasm for writing helps me convey news to you accurately and succinctly.
