Warframe’s Shrine of the Eidolon Update is Coming Tomorrow

Warframe has announced its next upcoming update, called Shrine of the Eidolon. The new update, which goes live on March 6 (this Tuesday), introduces two new Eidolons to the game. “With our new update, the Hydrolyst and Gantulyst will dominate the Plains of Eidolon and ferociously loom over those who challenge them,” developer Digital Extremes wrote on the PlayStation blog.

According to the post, as players roam the plains of Eidolon in-game, changing weather is a sure omen of the Hydrolyst’s presence. “Said to be an omen of impending natural disaster by the Ostron people who reside alongside the Plains, it has the ability to taint the ground you stand on with downpours of toxic rain. Lightning also strikes the field of battle when dueling the green spectral giant, so surefooted Tenno will dominate.”

The Gantulyst, meanwhile, carries around an enormous boulder for an arm, making “getting up close and personal” a poor option. “With the ability to summon a protective dome around it, it forces opponents in by ticking away health and deflecting attacks from those outside it. High defense and team support-orientated Warframes in these tight combat quarters make for easy work.”

You can take a look at both of the new arrivals in Shrine of the Eidolon‘s trailer below.

Warframe is available to play on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
