Wardens, Picture Mode And Noble Pokémon In Upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus

The Pokémon Company released last week video updating fans on all of the new features and characters coming to the new Pokémon Legends: Arceus game. In the video, the main character of the game can ride pokémon to travel through the Hisui region along with customizing the players’ looks through various costumes. Two exciting updates were related to Wardens, guardians of special pokemon, and Noble Pokémon, pokémon blessed with a special power.

A new pokemon was showcased in the video as a region evolution of Scyther named Kleavor. The intimidating Bug and Rock-type pokémon is shown as one of the Noble Pokémon the player will encounter on their journey. But in the video, Kleavor is in a frenzied mode and must be battled in order to calm the raging Noble.

The press release gives more details on the story and the players’ mission in the game. It says that “these Pokémon nobles are revered by the people of the region, but some strange phenomenon is now causing them to suddenly fly into a frenzy. The cause of these incidents is still shrouded in mystery. Once frenzied, these Pokémon are incredibly difficult to rein in, which forces the people of Hisui to turn to the Galaxy Expedition Team for help. As part of the Survey Corps, you will be called upon to quell the frenzies of the nobles.”

The Wardens are tasked with protecting these Noble Pokémon. They must make sure the Noble territories are unharmed and they must bring offerings of food and water to these pokémon. One Warden looks very familiar to fans of the series. The Warden named Arezu has a striking resemblance to Commander Mars from Team Galactic in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. She may be an ancestor of Mars just like Commander Kamado is an ancestor of Professor Rowan from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. On the game’s official website, it says that “Arezu feels a great deal of responsibility as a warden, and because of this, she tends to try to solve problems all by herself. She is tasked with the care of a certain lady Pokémon.” It is still unknown who this “lady pokémon” is though.

Your home base, Jubilife Village, allows the player to change their outfits and hairstyles at the clothier and hairdresser. Explore an unknown and expansive region in style! If players are looking to create images to share among friends or to keep as a fond memory, the photography studio allows them to take pictures with their pokemon while in various poses and positions. The village also has a general store and craftworks. These stores can be used to resupply items and to get new crafting recipes and materials for your journeys navigating the vast region. Since a trainer can only hold six pokémon at a time, they can send any extra companions to the pasture which is similar to a PC storage box in past games. Through any camp, explorers can switch out their current pokémon with the ones they have left at the pasture.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes place in the Hisui region before the land became known as Sinnoh, the region for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS. It is set to be released Friday, January 28, 2022, on Nintendo Switch for $59.99. Owners of the game can download the Hisuian Growlithe Kimono Set through download until May 9, 2022.
