The team at Riot Games is gearing up for Valorant’s sixth annual championship in Shanghai later this month. So far, they have announced Valorant’s largest update of the year, along with the reveal trailer for a brand new skin tailored to this years championships. Additionally, they have released a three and a half minute music video unveiling If The Sun Burns Out Tonight ft. Grabbitz, Oli Sykes, and Courtney LaPlante as the 2026 Valorant Champions anthem in preparation.
The tagline below the music video asks fans the following question: “At the end of the world, when the void calls your name, will you FRAG or DIE?” For fans or casual players who are unfamiliar with first person shooter slang, a ‘frag’ is simply a kill. In Valorant terms, however, it could be an illusion to something else. One of the game’s agents, KAY/O, has an ability that is almost a wordplay on this slang that allows him to “l throw a fragment as a projectile that sticks as soon as it comes into contact with horizontal terrain.”
This question also seems to be a slogan of sorts, making multiple appearances in the Champions 2026 Skin Reveal Trailer. The description for this skin bundle, which is officially named Frag or Die, reads “Frag or Die with a new Phantom and Fan Melee featuring premium flourishes and a dynamic side-swap effect.” If the Sun Burns Out Tonight plays in the background as various guns, knives, and other projectiles are put on display.
Not much about these skins has been made public aside from their announcement earlier today, but fans can be certain that the bundle will include skins for two weapons: a “Phantom skin with two variants and a transforming fan [shaped] knife” or melee. In keeping with the ‘frag or die’ theme, the bundle reportedly features a Shanghai Champions exclusive animation with Sage and Viper. The Frag or Die bundle will be available on September 22, with the Champions event beginning two days later on the 24th.
