Valor Mortis Has Been Delayed to October 13 Due to a Stacked September

September 2026 is going to be the biggest month for gamers, as so many triple-A titles are releasing in that time due to the fear of one game, which is insane. But jokes aside, many anticipated games are, in fact, releasing in September, such as Control Resonant, Wolverine, and many more, so it’s a miracle if gamers will be able to make rent that month, given the amount coming that month. Valor Mortis is one of the games coming out in September, specifically on the 24th. In a tweet from the Valor Mortis X account, the game will be delayed to October 13 due to the number of games coming out in September, and the developers want the game to breathe, which is respectable.

Valor Mortis is a souls-like game that has you play as Napoléon. You will wield magic, swords, and firearms in an effort to uncover Napoléon’s conspiracy. The game will be in first-person and developed by One More Level, the Ghostrunner studio. So there is a lot of anticipation for the game, as Ghostrunner was well received, and this is their first stab at a Souls game. Recently, Valor Mortis released a demo on June 7, and it has been well-received, so it’s a win for One More Level. Unfortunately, the game has been delayed to October 13, and the reasoning, as stated before, is that September is so stacked with game releases that they wanted the game to be able to shine, so it moved to a less-populated month, and they are using the time to improve the game based on beta feedback.

Delays in games are much more common nowadays and aren’t inherently bad. In most cases, developers need more time to polish or further develop the game, so a rushed product doesn’t hit the market and ruin the game’s image and its chances of success. And in the Valor Mortis situation, it’s best to move its date as September is stacked to the gills. They don’t want the game to fall by the wayside, so respect to them, and it’s a smart choice, as games in the past have had the unfortunate situation of releasing near big games and becoming lost in the shuffle. With this situation, it’s kinda crazy that thanks to GTA 6 releasing in November, everyone is looking for other months and stacking up to avoid it. The gaming world truly is a crazy place.
