Nintendo fans around the world may now rejoice. Fans can immerse themselves in the environment of Super Nintendo World and have the experience of traveling through familiar settings based on the iconic Super Mario World games. Previously only available at Universal Studios Japan, the announcement came last year that Super Nintendo World will be coming to Universal Studios Hollywood. The new section of the theme parked is scheduled to open later this winter. However, the Twitter account Inside Universal posted a series of tweets that shared with fans the experience of Super Nintendo World’s soft opening.
Fans have been anticipating the opening of this section of Universal Studios and now we are getting firsthand look at the park. The entrance is set up as a warp pipe, an allusion to Mario traveling to different worlds using the pipes. Visitors can purchase Power-Up Bands that can be used with interactive segments of the park. There is an interactive feature throughout the park fans can be a part of. Places such as this Power Block is one of the many locations in the park visitors will be able to use the interactive feature.
For visitors wanting to dine in the park, Toad’s Café is the hub of cuisine. People are greeted with a video of Toad welcoming them all to the café. The café offers a variety of Nintendo-themed foods and beverages. And for thrill seekers looking for rides to enjoy, the highly anticipated Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge will be available for people to ride.
Based after the Mario Kart series, people can now experience firsthand the feeling of being on a Mario Kart track and going through course obstacles. Super Nintendo World will officially open February 17, 2023.
