Unique Third Person Morphing Shooter Project Tower Releases January 2025

Paris based developer Yummy Games have a set release date for their third person, bullet hell, morphing shooter Project Tower. The game is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and PC on January 6, 2025. Gematsu reports that a demo is currently available on both platforms.

Projects Tower is set in a sci-fi world where the Hiks, an alien invading race, aims to capture the surviving remnants of humanity; With the power of their Project Tower, a program designed to test prisoners, the invaders aim to build an all powerful army. You’ll assume the role of a prison inmate seeking to gain their freedom by attempting to fight their way to the top.

The ability to ‘metamorph’ into alien beings will play a role in your ability to suprise opponents. You’ll combat hordes of enemies and solve puzzles with a wide array of new weapons as you ascend each floor of the tower.

Jonathan Caliari Co-Founder of Yummy Games shared in an interview with Chris in Color about Project Tower’s morphing ability and some of the game’s creative influences “…and the main twist of the game is the morphing ability. So you can morph into different creatures or objects and use their ability to find your way in combat. So there is some “bullet hell” aspect to the combat, like Returnal and old games and for the scenario, it’s inspired by some sci-fi movies like Star Wars, etc and the cinematics, it’s also inspired by God of War.”

Project Tower launches soon and provides a unique spin on the bullet hell genre. While this may not be Yummy Games only project the developer has remained open to feedback throughout the development process. PlayStation 5 and PC owners may have another solid indie title to look forward to at the start of the next year.
