Unconfirmed Report: New ‘inFAMOUS’ & ‘Sly Cooper’ Games Are In Development

New Sly Cooper and inFAMOUS games are rumored to be in development. Per a tweet from Account NGT, Sony is potentially dusting off two of their old gems from Sucker Punch Productions. Before the Washington state-based developers put out Ghost of Tsushima in 2020, they released Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus back in 2002. The series would see two more releases from Sucker Punch by 2005. For the fourth and final game in the franchise, Sanzaru Games would take over development and see the game come out in 2013. In the meantime, Sucker Punch went on to make inFAMOUS in 2009 with several titles to follow. The last of which was released in 2014.

This is not the first time rumors have surfaced about either series getting new games. Last year, GameRant reported on leaks from Shpeshal_Nick about Sly Cooper 5 being in the works and new inFAMOUS that was supposed to be revealed at the PlayStation Showcase. There was an additional reason to believe inFAMOUS was getting a new release when the game’s website domain was updated last year. To make things even more interesting, Ghost of Tsushima may also be coming out with something new as well. Sucker Punch’s website featured job listing that called for a new narrative writer which excited players with the potential of new content.

With the possibility of development on three titles being underway, it is speculated that Sucker Punch may not be handling all three. Considering that another team has already worked on a Sly Cooper title, it may not be out of the question for it to happen again this time around. However, it more than likely would not be Sanzaru Games again due to Facebook absorbing the dev team two years ago. Known as leaker who is a “gaming newshound“, AccountNGT also proclaimed a PlayStation event to take place this month with some surprise announcements.

For those who are skeptical about the leaker, there is, “a credible track record“, behind them. Their accurate reports about Star Wars Eclipse and Fantastic Beasts can give us confidence that we may indeed be getting some new entries for some old favorites.
