Turner Sports Releases New Season of NFT Based Game Blockletes

Turner Sports Blocklete Games has announced the debut of another Blocklete Golf game. The release will be the second season of the game. The game was partially developed by Coinbase and is based around the Flow blockchain while players manage a golfer.

Blocklete Golf comes off as a normal golfing game in which players manage their characters and play head-to-head against other players. Players will have the ability to play in direct matchups against another player or even join tournaments to test their skills. The portion of the game that is unique revolves around the usage of the Flow blockchain. The game will be a play-to-earn model that uses nonfungible tokens (NFTs) to encourage play.

The NFTs will come in the form of unique athletes that they manage and play the game with. These athletes, called Blockletes, can increase attributes and value based on the in-game performance of the player. After increasing the abilities of the athlete, players will have the option to sell them in a brand new open marketplace.

The new season will also feature a brand new Pro-Shop. The Pro-Shop will allow players to access NFT accessories and other items to allow improvement and personalization of their Blocklete. There will also be vastly improved graphics that will improve the overall gameplay for the community.

The improvements and inclusion of NFTs bring along the potential for more games to follow. When discussing the potential for more games, Yang Adija, SVP of Digital League Business Operations, Growth & Innovation at Turner Sports said “Blocklete Golf is the first in what we envision being a franchise of play and earn games that we intend to build to provide users compelling gameplay and beautiful NFT products.” Although the market for the new style of games is just beginning, Blocklete Golf could be an innovator and have massive success.
