According to Gamespot, Naughty Dog has just released a free update to the critically acclaimed conclusion of the Uncharted series. Uncharted 4’s 1.12 update adds a brand new multiplayer map and brings new features to the game. In celebration of the update, Naughty Dog sent out the following tweet and trailer to fans:
One of the most substantial additions that this update provides is a brand new multiplayer map called “New Devon.” Uncharted 4 players might remember this place from the New Devon chapter of the game’s single player campaign. The map is set in the ruins of a lost pirate colony. Senior Communications Manager of Naughty Dog, Scott Lowe, claims that the map is one of the largest multiplayer maps that Naughty Dog has ever made for the series. He also mentioned in blog how the addition was influenced by fans who had been clamoring for more maps in the game. Below is a quote from the aforementioned blog:
One comment we see and hear the most is “Release more maps!” Rest assured, we’ve heard you loud and clear and today we’re excited to introduce New Devon, an all-new multiplayer map launching today in Uncharted 4 Multiplayer.
In addition to the new map, there’s also some improvements and changes made to the core game. These changes affect the menus, economy, networking, and much more. Scot Lowe detailed the improvements with the following quote:
For our more competitive players, the 1.12 patch also includes updates to Ranked Team Deathmatch and a new set of rewards for Season 2. We’ve taken the community’s feedback to heart and with these changes, we’re aiming to make the competitive experience more rewarding for solo players.
