Super Mario Party Jamboree is the successor to Super Mario Party Superstars game that released in October of 2021 and released on the 17th of October, 2024. With added game modes and replay ability, Super Mario Party Jamboree debuted at the top of the UK retail charts and has trounced its predecessor in sales, now topping it by 35% in physical copies sold and also managed to outsell EA’s FC 25 to take the top spot in the country. GameIndustry’s Christopher Dring broke the news on X saying:
Super Mario Party Superstars released to a fairly warm reception and later gained attention by bringing back classic maps and introducing online play for the first time in the franchise’s illustrious history. In comparison, Super Mario Party Jamboree has been welcomed with open arms by fans a critics alike by keeping what they had improved on in the previous installment, while adding new modes like Minigame Bay which allows players to focus their time on the 110 mini games that Super Mario Party Jamboree offers, Paratroopa Flight School which is a new motion controlled mode that has 3 different games to play as plays fly around the map, and Koopathlon which is a new online mode that allows players to compete with 20 other players from around the globe.
Super Mario Party Superstars has sold about 12.89 million worldwide as of now and hits number 20 on all time sales for games sold on the Nintendo Switch console all time. While global sales are not yet known, it’s fair to say that if trends continue, Super Mario Party Jamboree will easily top Super Mario Superstars on that list when all is said and done.
