UK Fans Are Getting Their Hands On Uncharted 4 Two Weeks Early

Remember when people were getting access to a popular game weeks before the rest of us and we had to spend weeks tiptoeing around the internet avoiding spoilers? All those long, long weeks ago. Well, get your blinders back on, because it might happen again.

Videogamer and MCV are reporting that people are receiving copies of Uncharted 4 weeks before its official release date on May 10th.

Videogamer reports that at least one person was able to get a physical copy of the game at CEX, a retail store in the UK, yesterday. With MCV saying that there were also reports of people in the US and Germany getting the game early. Copies have also been popping up on eBay.

So far those who have gotten to play the game haven’t had anything negative to say about it. One gamer, named Shabz, has played through the first two chapters of the game and says it is running fine, barring the occasional frame rate dips, but that’s normal now-a-days.

Obviously, multiplayer isn’t working yet, with Shabz saying that the option is greyed out on the main menu.  Trophies aren’t synched across Sony’s servers either.

None of this means that there is anything wrong with game, it’s just part of playing a game before it has been officially released. People who played Dark Souls 3 before its worldwide release also didn’t have access to multiplayer while they played.

Originally Uncharted 4 was meant to come out today, but to make sure everyone got to play the game on day one, Sony decided to give manufacturers a few more weeks to make more copies of the game. It’s reasonable to assume that some wires got crossed somewhere and word of the game’s delay didn’t reach some retailers.

The biggest problem now is avoiding the potential spoilers, reviewers are still under embargo but everyone else isn’t, so watch out for end game spoilers posted in the comments section of anything.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is still set to release on May 10th, you can watch the teaser for the newly announced Plunder Mode here.
