Ubisoft Rumored to Announce Roller Champions at E3 2019

A new leak is making its rounds across the internet—this time, a brand new Ubisoft IP called Roller Champions. The leak was first posted by Twitter user New_WabiSabi, also known as PolarPanda on ResetEra, a self-described “popular leaker” who has history of confirmed leaks. In the past, they’ve leaked the roster for Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Nintendo Switch remake, which makes them somewhat of a credible source.

According to New_WabiSabi, Roller Championsinvolves skating and sports ball.” They appear confident in the accuracy of their leak, claiming to have received sufficient evidence, such as shots of gameplay and artwork, including the supposed logo.

After the initial tweets, New_WabiSabi revealed in a later tweet that they received more pictures of the game from an unnamed source, claiming it was “legit” and included information about E3. New_WabiSabi was hesitant to post the pictures, as they contained watermarks that would expose the source. Eventually, New_WabiSabi decided to upload one of the pictures without watermarks to maintain the anonymity of the source, but Ubisoft quickly removed it from the tweet on the grounds of copyright. New_WabiSabi later uploaded an edited version that has yet to be taken down.

The fact that the image was copyrighted suggests that Roller Champions is an actual IP that Ubisoft will reveal in the future—most likely at E3, New_WabiSabi speculates. Ubisoft has yet to make any official announcement about the title or confirm its existence, but Spiel Times has posted an article containing more information about the game, including new pictures and video footage, though it’s still unclear what platforms Roller Champions would be available on.

Ubisoft’s E3 event will occur on Monday, June 10, at 1:00 PM PST; livestreams of the event are expected to be offered on Twitch and YouTube.
