What started as a delay over localization has sprung into a bigger mess for the developers of The Division 2. Since its release in 2019, the online tactical shooter has received 10 seasons of extended content. Season 11 was pushed back from its release on February 7 due to issues with its localization. Unfortunately, according to its developers, it seems that Season 11 won’t be ready any time soon.
In a recent tweet, The Division 2 developers announced an extension to the 11th season update due to complications with its fixes. While dealing with the localization issues on Saturday, the developers encountered an error that, according to the developers, “…brought down the build generation system for The Division 2.” These new problems have rendered the developers unable to make any server or client updates until the issue is fixed, a massive problem compared to the initial localization issue.
Unsurprisingly, progress will not be able to continue until the developers can fix their newest problem. However, some issues critically affecting playability have been dealt with, but it isn’t a complete fix. Currently, there is no estimated date when these issues will be resolved, but the developers assured players that they were working diligently on the game’s fixes.
Regardless, the community will have to wait longer for the game to return to normal. Thankfully the developers prepared in-game compensation for fans during the wait. While those plans are still unknown, it is likely to be tomorrow alongside the update on the situation.
Ubisoft games are no stranger to technical difficulties. In the past few months, the company has experienced multiple game content delays in current and future projects, as well as full-on cancellations. Hopefully, the developers will be able to fix these issues and get The Division 2 into a playable state.
