Ubisoft Details Last Update Of Year 2 For Ghost Recon: Wildlands; Releases Tomorrow

The developers behind Ghost Recon: Wildlands has shared information on what players can expect from its last update of Year 2 of the game. Special Operation 4 will have a new, free PvE mode, an update on Ghost War PvP, and community-requested features.

The new PvE mode coming to Special Operation 4 is called Guerilla. In this mode, you and up to 3 friends face waves of Cartel and Unidad members. Each round will make enemies deadlier as you gather resources to defend key locations.

Before the start of each round, a preparation phase will occur. During this time, you and your friends can strategize and choose what weapons and attachments you’ll bring into the round. Weapons and attachments can get upgraded as you defeat enemies and collect their gear. Then, you exchange the gear with the shopkeeper. As you complete waves, you will gather XP, Tier Points, and Prestige Credits. You can also get an exclusive gear set when you beat all 25 waves for the first time.

The biggest thing coming in the update of Ghost War is a new class called Sapper. This new class is a new Support option who can deploy a specialized drone that shoots concussion mines. These mines will drain stamina and suppress other players.

Two new PvP events are going to be added to the rotation, Arms Race and Danger Zone. The duration of these events has been reduced from 60 hours to 36 hours. A new Heatmap view will be added to the TacMap as well. You will see the most visited locations when using this option, and using it may also lead to some locations that haven’t been visited.

Some of the community-requested features coming to the game include: the option to change the time of day in the solo campaign; the compass from Ghost War is available to be used for all PvE modes; an audio notification alerting that your character has started bleeding; also, custom matches in Ghost War with the Custom Match Browser.

Also coming to Special Operation 4 are two new maps that are added to Ghost War. “Gas Station” is a Santa Blanca gas station under construction in South Libertad, while “Airbase” is a Unidad helibase located in Eastern Koani. Daily challenges are replacing challenge seasons. There will be three solo, one task force, and one community challenge. Each challenge will come with increased Prestige Credit rewards.

Special Operation 4 of Ghost Recon: Wildlands releases on February 26, 2019, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
