Another entry into The Division series was casually announced in a news update on Thursday. According the update, Ubisoft announced the return of Julian Gerighty to The Division series, and more importantly, The Division 3.
Previously, Gerighty acted as the Associate Creative Director for The Division in 2014 and Creative Director in 2016. Now, he returns to The Division 3 as the Executive Producer. Gerighty expressed his happiness at his new position in a statement.
“There are a huge number of talented developers currently working on the brand,” said Gerighty. “and I think that having more consistency can only make everybody’s work sing.”
With his newest position, Gerighty has been tasked with building a team for The Division 3, while balancing support for The Division 2 alongside handling the series’ brand identity. Gerighty expressed his dedication towards going above player expectations towards The Division series’ visuals and gameplay by “refining and pushing the quality bar forward.”
“I think that we delivered that with Tom Clancy’s The Division’s cutting-edge visuals, incredible gameplay, and promise to the player that they can’t get this experience anywhere else,” continued Gerighty. “and then again with Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. It’s about refinement, it’s about pushing the quality bar consistently forward.”
Currently, Gerighty is overseeing Star Wars Outlaws as it’s Creative Director. Gerighty will begin his new Executive Producer role once Star Wars Outlaws has been shipped off. While the exact release date for Star Wars Outlaws is still unknown, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment set the tentative date for 2024.
No further information on The Division 3 has been revealed by Ubisoft or Massive Entertainment. Although, it would hardly be surprising if more information on the game will be revealed towards the end of 2023.
