The remake for Prince of Persia Sands of Time seems to be alive and well. Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake was supposed to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2021 but after three delays and a studio change last May, fans have grown worried that the remake would be canceled. Fortunately, the remake is still going strong, according to Ubisoft.
Ubisoft Montreal is still working on the Prince of Persia remake, previously the remake was worked on by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai before being switch over to the original developers. That being said, the game seems to be heading towards another delay. As such, pre-orders for the game have been canceled and refunded wherever applicable due to the release date currently not known. Ubisoft stated that pre-orders will reopen once a new release date is announced, but considering Prince of Persia remake’s development, that is unlikely to be happening in the near future.
Ubisoft also deconfirmed any future remakes within the Prince of Persia series, stating that beyond the Sands of Time remake they have no further plans for the series. Regardless, Ubisoft stated that more information about the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake would be revealed in future updates.
