Two New Developer Showcase Events Announced For Summer Game Fest

Recently, Geoff Keighley and Day of the Devs announced two new developer showcase events for the Summer Game Fest, the all-digital multi-month global gaming festival curated by Geoff Keighley. The events will spotlight a select group of upcoming indie and AAA video games. Akupara Games, Annapurna Interactive, The Behemoth, Finij, Kowloon Nights, Longhand Electric, MWM Interactive, Panic, Sabotage Studio, Skybound Games, Team17, thatgamecompany, Tribute Games, and ustwo games have been revealed as some of the participants of the events. The Summer Game Fest Developer Showcases will take place on June 22 and July 20, with new content in each Livestream, including gameplay, news, and videogame musical performances.

Geoff Keighley said: “Independent game developers and publishers are a vital part of our industry and Summer Game Fest. I am excited to team up with Day of the Devs for these showcase events that will be filled with gameplay and updates from both independent and major publishers.”

“Our goal with Day of the Devs has always been to shine a spotlight on creator-driven games, whether it’s one that’s already getting some buzz or something completely new and surprising that comes through the submission process,” said Tim Schafer, founder of Double Fine Productions and co-founder of Day of the Devs.

Amanda White and Jon Gibson, co-owners of iam8bit and co-founders of Day of the Devs said: “Each showcase will be jam-packed, from the extended gameplay previews that have become a Day of the Devs staple to some very special surprise debuts that you’ll never see coming. This is the Day of the Devs you’ve loved for the last eight years, yet crafted specifically for the digital space.”

The final announcement of publishers, developers, and games being featured in these events will be revealed in the future. Day of the Devs is currently accepting submissions from indie developers to be included in one of the showcases.
