As the release date for The Last of Us Part IIcomes closer, Sony has now recently planned to released a limited edition PlayStation 4 (Pro) Bundle. This bundle will be purchase-able at the same time as the game releases and features everything from a unique controller to in game features.
The bundle is set to include the console, a controller, a physical copy of The Last of Us Part II, and a code to redeem online features such as themes and avatars. The limited edition console itself looks to be a matte black with Ellie’s tattoo design, as the same for the controller. In the official announcement for the bundle, Naughty Dog art director John Sweeney had this to say,
When we first revealed The Last of Us Part II, we had no idea how quickly fans would embrace Ellie’s tattoo. Within a day, we started seeing real-life versions showing up on social media and fans have been sharing photos of their new tattoos with us week after week ever since. When the opportunity arose to create a custom PS4 Pro for The Last of Us Part II, I worked with our graphic designer at the time, Angel Garcia, and we considered a few different ideas, but we kept coming back to Ellie’s tattoo.
The bundle is set to retail at $400 USD with the controller avalanche for a separate $65 USD purchase.
At the same time as this release, Sony is also preparing a Limited Edition Gold Wireless Headset and a 2TB game drive (that both feature the designs of Ellie’s tattoo and the logo for the game). The headset will be available for $99 USD and the price for the storage device is still unknown and unlisted on the website.
After many ups and downs, The Last of Us Part II is scheduled for release on June 19th, 2020 on PlayStation. The game is set to follow Ellie as the events of the first The Last of Us unfold.
