Twitch Live Stream For The Division Reveals Information on Final DLC and Update 1.6

Following the release of a small teaser, this morning at 8am, The Division’s Twitch live stream came alive with brand new details about what will be included in the Last Stand DLC as well as in the upcoming 1.6 update.

Before getting to the Last stand DLC, its important to note that the Dark Zone will indeed be extended to now go up to 9, which will double its size. The new zones will be integrated and can be accessed by continuing to go north past zone 6. The new zones will be more focused on exploration and will have more rooftop and underground areas to explore. The dark zone will also be less focused on PvP and more focused on PvE by increasing the size but keeping the player cap the same. Which brings me to the point of Last Stand being set up as a PvP game mode.

The Last Stand will take players into the dark zone, but with dedicated server to support an 8v8 player game. Last stand was originally set to be released last year, but due to issues with the game, was delayed until this year. Last Stand is essentially an organized PvP match in the dark zone, which will task players with an objective. The big thing about the mode is that players will have three tactical locations that they will need to capture in order to complete the objective. Once in an objective location, there will be three micro objectives that players must capture in order to begin scoring points. the first team to fill up their point bar will win.

What’s nice to hear about the Last Stand game mode is that, while taking place in the dark zone, it will not have the usual dark zone death penalties. Players will not be trying to collect any loot while playing the match. When you die you won’t lose dark zone rank or anything like that. Players will simply die and then re spawn and get back to fighting their enemy. After the match is completed, the winning team will receive whatever rewards will be put in place. They will also be adding a new incursion for Last Stand, although they didn’t reveal any information about it at this time.

During the live stream the release date was not announced, however, they did clarify that unlike the first two DLC modes to come out already, Last Stand will not be a timed exclusive for Xbox one and PC. The game, when released, will make it to every platform at the same time.
