Trion Worlds recently released an expansion for their adventure based mmorpg Trove. The expansion, titled Trove – Adventures offers new ways to team up with other players and explore the game’s world.
Trove is an adventure mmorpg where players can take on the role of “knights, draconic mages, salty pirates, dinosaur tamers, foxy lancers, and more.” Trove’s expansive world offers many unique areas to explore on foot or on the backs of ground and airbound mounts. The pixelated graphics and ability to build whatever structures you want are reminiscent of game mechanics from titles such as Minecraft, and players can even submit their creations for special recognition.
Trove’s newest expansion Trove – Adventures adds to the fun with “completely revamped clubs for playing with friends, a brand-new tutorial for players just starting with Trove, new tools for building, and so much more.” Clubs offer features that allow players to go on adventures together, level up and make their characters stronger. Those who have already played for a while and have high-level characters will also benefit from the new mastery system which allows “veterans to earn benefits from their accumulated Mastery.” Veterans may also appreciate grouping up and going out on new adventures with the addition of the new Forbidden Spires Biome, which “offers all new NPCs, Dungeons (including an awesome dungeon that takes place inside an enormous flying dragon!), and Lairs for Trovians to explore and conquer.”
The new club system allows “customization of player-created club worlds” so anyone can have their own unique gathering place no matter their experience level. Framework recipes will be added to help players construct items such as statues and block-buildings which will aide in the creation process of their club worlds. Trove – Adventures‘ expansion trailer offers a brief look into world creation on a large scale in addition to some of the new mounts, treasure chests containing loot and group battles with monsters.
