Treyarch Addresses Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Network Issues

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been doing great since its launch, it hasn’t been perfect. A number of players have had similar network issues that prevent them from enjoying all of what the game has to offer. In the newest patch notes, Treyarch has made statement on the matter saying that now that the game is launched, their focus will be on improving network performance. “For a game launch with as massive a population as ours hitting so many global servers at once, we configure our infrastructure to ensure game stability as the highest priority over all other factors,” the company states. “Now that we’re past the initial launch of the game, we are focusing on fine-tuning network performance around the globe, using the real-world data that we have collected.”

The main issue that is plaguing players is the amount of latency that they experience while playing. A majority of those said that they don’t experience the same amount of ping than they do in other games. They experience ping over 100 while other games have them at 80-100.  Treyarch has told players that over the next several weeks they will attempt to fix their network problem by rolling out several updates to the network setup that they use.

They also stated that they are committed to making this Call Of Duty their best game yet, support included.  “Launch is just the beginning, and we’re committed to making Black Ops 4 the best-supported game we’ve ever delivered. This is a journey that will involve constant adjustments, improvements, and additions.”

Treyarch is also looking to fix the gesture bug that is enabling players to view their surroundings, getting an edge on other players. This is an issue because the game is played from a first-person-perspective only. While they have been updating the game, Treyarch also provided more insight into its in-game store, ‘Black Market’. It serves as the central hub for cosmetic and customization for all of Black Ops 4’s modes.
