Creative Assembly and Sega are ready to unveil the next entry in their long running Total War franchise. This time we’ll be going to battle in agent Egypt during the great Egyptian New Kingdom period in the ably named Total War: Pharaoh. The game already has a Steam page up which you can check out right here, and perhaps even better is when it comes out. Total War: Pharaoh is set to launch later this year, and will be available in the month of October.
Creative Assembly also released an announcement trailer which gives us a beautiful and vibrant look at the state of Egypt which lead up to the now famous Bronze Age collapse. The trailer is purely cinematic as we see an Egyptian Scarab push a ball of dirt through different terrains whilst dealing with various weather situations. It ends with the Scarab being stopped by an Egyptian warrior who takes the Scarab on his hand while overlooking the battle playing out before him. Players will choose between eight faction leaders, all of which are famous historical figures from Egyptian lore. This includes Ramesses, Seti, Tausret, and Amenmesse; the Canaanite factions of Bay and Irsu to name a few.
Total War: Pharaoh will also have a brand new feature for the franchise. Dubbed the Campaign Customization, this new feature will allow players to random start positions for every new campaign, and even alter the resource settings and change up the chances for natural disaster occurrences. This greatly expands on the overall accessibility for those who want a more challenging experience, or for those who want to tone it down a bit when trying to build upon your faction. If you pre-order the title, you’ll be given an Early Access weekend, albeit no dates have been announced for this yet. You’ll also receive the Avatar of the Gods Cosmetic pack and the Heart of the Shardana Cosmetic pack. The game will also come in three different editions to purchase. The Standard Edition ($59.99), the Deluxe Edition that comes with a digital soundtrack and DLC Faction Pack 1 ($72.87), and the Dynasty Edition which has the digital soundtrack, all three DLC Faction Packs, and the DLC Campaign Pack ($91.46).
Total War: Pharaoh will officially launch sometime in October 2023 for PC.
