Toren Releases New Trailer, Launches On PS4, PC, and Mac Early 2015

Brazilian based Indie developer Swordtales and Indie publisher Versus Evil (The Banner Saga), behind the upcoming dark fantasy adventure game Toren, which brings players an epic journey about growth, discovery and overcoming great hurdles, has released a new trailer. The game will be scheduled to come onto PC, Mac, and PlayStation 4 in Early 2015.

In Toren, players will experience a dark fantasy adventure game as mentioned above, with beautiful graphics where you get to go through various innovative puzzles and immersive gameplay. Go into a journey through the main character’s eyes to ‘explore deep concepts and existential questions’, which you start out as a helpless lonely girl named Moonchild and grow along your journey into a warrior. “Guide her on a dangerous journey of discovery and transformation as she unlocks the mysteries of the tower, known as Toren.” The main influences for Toren when it comes to scenes and adventures, Legend of Zelda comes to mind.

Earlier this month, Swordtales and Versus Evil announced their partnership together for Toren. “We’re very excited to be teaming up with Versus Evil,” said Vitor Severo Leães, Swordtales Producer. “Toren is the biggest project of our lives and we have been independently developing it for three years.  A big concern for us was finding a publishing partner for the game, one that understood how we operated and had the experience to help us launch the game successfully. We found the ideal partner in Versus Evil and are looking forward to working closely with them.”

“Toren is a great example of the type of game we look to partner with,” said Steve Escalante, general manager of Versus Evil. “It’s a unique, exciting, and beautiful game with a story that truly captivates the player. The Swordtales team has done a great job in developing this magical world and we’re thrilled to be partnering with them. We look forward to sharing more information in the months to come and to finally releasing Toren to gamers across the globe.”

With Swordtales being formed back in 2011, they have within that time received several nominations and awards, which they won the Best PC at the E-Games 2012 award, and received the Honorable Mention at the Indie Games Festival, a Finalist for Art Design in IndiePub and the Brasil Game Show awards.
