In case you haven’t heard, The Fallout TV show is a hit, bringing old and new players to the series like never before. Yesterday, it was announced that we will be making return to the Wasteland with the announcement that the show has been officially renewed for season 2. While we know we’ll be returning to the Wasteland in one form of entertainment, many are wondering when we’ll be returning to the series in its original format, video games. Bethesda Game Studios recently announced that the next-gen version of Fallout 4 is coming next week on April 25. In an interview with IGN, Bethesda Games Studios’ Todd Howard spoke on the developer’s plans for the future and made it clear. Right now, the team is focused on The Elder Scrolls VI.
“I’m going to avoid putting dates on anything. I’ve learned the hard way,” Howard said. “So obviously, our focus as far as new development right now is Elder Scrolls VI, but that doesn’t mean that we’re not making plans for other things.
“We’re still doing a lot of work, obviously on Fallout 76, and we see the community, so many people going into that game and kind of rediscovering it and just so happy with where that game is at. It really does, and I mean, this has one of the best communities in all of gaming.” In addition to Fallout 76, the developers have also outlined plans for their new RPG franchise, Starfield.
“Surprisingly, it’s a very, very nice apocalypse, and we’re doing lot of Starfield work as well” he added. “So we have some really good updates that are going to get announced soon for that game. So, a lot going on here.”
Bethesda Game Studios is targeting updates for Starfield roughly every six weeks. These updates will include everything from quality-of-life improvements to content and feature updates. They are also working on getting mod support for the game and are working on the game’s first major expansion which is expected to launch sometime this year.
