Fans from around the world and at E3 were treated to the announcement that next holiday season Halo Infinite will release alongside Microsoft’s next major console that has been deemed Project Scarlett. With a cinematic showing the continued urgency to save humankind, Halo Infinite details were finally revealed. It will be an emotional end to the second trilogy in the Halo series where the trapped character is faced with projections of his family and a mysterious signal coming out of nowhere.
The signal is no other than our very own Master Chief floating in space. Once retrieved onto the man’s vessel, Chief is awakened with a jolt as does his ship. This scene seems to paint the picture for the game’s introduction, where humanity has been hit with a hard loss and must recover with Chief jumping right back into the action.
We then hear the voice of Cortona as the presentation concluded with ominous tones and more questions than answers that should come out as the 2020 holidays come closer. 343 is looking to take the Halo franchise to places that is never been before, picking up where they left off with Halo 5: Guardians. Check out the cinematic that will bring a possible conclusion to the Master Chief saga:
We previously talked about why Halo Infinite was taking so long to develop a couple of days ago. The “retooling” of the game’s infrastructure and the adapting that would have to coincide with whatever the Project Scarlett console will be named has taken skill and patience for the team at 343. Since Halo Infinite is going to be a “spiritual reboot” of the series, they will have to simultaneously satisfy seasoned Halo veterans and bring in new players at the same time. That in of itself is a daunting task while also reworking the engine into something completely new and with the mindset that multiplayer must constantly be innovated in this day and age.
Overall, Xbox and Microsoft shared an impressive amount of content coming to players in the next two years. And they finished with a bang as details about Project Scarlett were discussed and Halo Infinite‘s time frame of release was solidified.
