The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Available For Pre-Download On Xbox One

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the third installment in The Witcher series, has gone gold, which means the highly anticipated RPG is ready to be printed to discs and sent out to retailers. Along with this announcement, the game is currently available for pre-download, but not yet playable, on Xbox One via Xbox Live for those that that cannot wait for the May 19 release. This will allow players to begin playing right at midnight when The Witcher 3 drops. CD Projekt RED released a statement on how the creative team created the world of Wild Hunt:

“We worked so damn hard over the past three years to bring you this game,” said studio head Adam Badowski in a prepared statement. “From the corrupt nobles in Novigrad to ancient monsters lurking in deep forests, to the bustling cities, colorful ports and breathtaking vistas; all the people, all the places.”

“We literally spent tens of thousands of hours to turn all that into an adventure that will kick your ass and make you want to come for more. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has gone gold and will soon be yours.”

To incentivize players to pre-order the game, anyone that purchases the game through Xbox One, PS4, or PC through May 18 will get a 10% discount on their purchase, reducing the price to $54 from $60. This price is more than fair for the estimate 200 hours of gameplay The Witcher 3 claims to offer. CD Projekt RED has also announced DLC in the form of an Expansion Pass that can be purchased for $24.99. The Expansion Pass includes two additional adventures for your character. Hearts of Stone is a ten hour campaign that will take our main character into the “wilds of No Man’s Land and the nooks and alleys of Oxenfurt, where he’ll try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass”. The second campaign, Blood and Stone will be a “20-hour-plus tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret”.
