The final episode of Telltale’s (now Skybound’s) The Walking Dead: The Final Chapter is releasing sooner than we expected. Players will be able to see the conclusion of Clementine’s story when Episode 4, known as ‘Take Us Back,’ releases March 26.
When Telltale suddenly announced that they were shutting down back in September, the future of their adventure games set in the Walking Dead world seemed to be in jeopardy. Fortunately, Skybound Entertainment, a game company helmed by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, was willing to pick up the torch, hire some of Telltale’s former employees, and work on releasing the last two episodes. The third episode, ‘Broken Toys,’ released just a few days ago. It was mostly finished before Telltale closed down, so it didn’t take too long to make.
As it turns out, the final episode has only a little over two months left to make. Players who look at the newly-updated title screen for The Walking Dead: The Final Chapter will see that Episode 4, titled ‘Take Us Back,’ will be available for download March 26.
As for the latest episode, it’s seen some mixed reviews, and it’s hard to tell how much of it comes from switching studios mid-development. Still, I’m sure many players will simply be satisfied with seeing the story come to an actual conclusion.
The Walking Dead: The Final Chapter Episode 4 ‘Take Us Back’ will become available for download March 26 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
