With less than one week to go before the latest chapter of their game’s release, Skybound Games has unveiled yet another new trailer for The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 3: Broken Toys. The company came in not long after the game’s original developers, Telltale games, went under in one of the most high profile stories of 2018. Judging by the trailer, Skybound is doing everything they can to make sure that fans get the best out of these final two episodes, as well as give Clementine and AJ the conclusive ending they deserve.
The penultimate episode is almost here: “Broken Toys” is out Jan. 15th. How will the journey end? You decide – but don’t forget: #Clementine will remember that. #StillNotBittenhttps://t.co/KgNE8kbYi6 pic.twitter.com/3YaKXsJptS

Continuing with the tagline “Still Not Bitten”, which refers to Clementine being one of the few characters in the series to not be bitten by a Walker, the trailer starts off with Clementine and AJ beginning an interrogation with a bandit who is tied up. Clementine then goes from tossing a bucket of water on his face to burning a lit cigar on his face, showing just how hardened she has become. The scene shifts to Clementine and the rest of the group moving through a horde of Walkers using the oldest trick in the book: covering themselves with Walker guts and walking through them.
However, the biggest shock to come out of the trailer was at the very end. In a brief flashback, a younger Clementine is seen sitting on a train car, possibly from the First Season’s Episode 3: Long Road Ahead. Before the camera focuses on Clementine, we see a shadowy figure that looks like Lee, the protagonist of the First Season, walk behind her. He then says “Hey sweet pea”, his favorite nickname for her. While it was only a few seconds, this could indicate a that we’re in for a flashback scene where we have one more beautiful moment with Lee and Clementine. If anyone has played the First Season of the series, you know how that relationship ends.
After the Telltale incident, we weren’t sure if the series would ever be completed. Now it looks like the ending is going to be bigger and better than we anticipated. Considering the circumstances, it’s wonderful to see that Skybound Games isn’t cutting any corners here, and we won’t be waiting long to see the fruits of their labor. The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 3: Broken Toys launches next week on Tuesday, January 15 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and exclusively on the Epic Games Store for PC.
