Well better late than never, right? Two days before the release of From Software’s upcoming Summer co-op release Elden Ring Nightreign we get a bit of light shed on one of the playable Nightfarers, the Revenant.
The Revenant has been seen in past trailers but not necessarily shown. We’ve seen one of the Nighfarers utilize summons and the like, and now we know that said summons are the property of the Revenant. Taking a mechanic that’s either the coolest and most unique thing about Elden Ring or the scrubbiest depending on your perspective, the Revenant revolves almost entirely around summoning Spirit Ashes. Some of the classics are shown in the trailer such as the Page, and I’m sure others that the community loved like the jellyfish or the greatshield goons will return for this game (though Tiche and the Mimic might be a bit too much). The most notable summon the Revenant brings is the giant skeleton that was previously only used by the Tibia Mariners, so there’s no bones about it that Revenant is one of the flashier classes, eh?
Also notable is that the Revenant seems to be able to revive her comrades without having to be close enough to interact with them, and she’s able to do it to multiple Nightfarers at the same time. Between that, her summons, and the fact that her main weapon seems to be a harp, it looks like Revenant will be the top dog as far as support classes for Nightreign goes.
Also she’s a puppet lady, a cute callback to Bloodborne’s doll that may actually be story relevant, but it might also just be that they wanted to make a puppet lady playable since they had the model and want to explore it more.
If the Revenant tickles your funny bone look out for Elden Ring Nightreign’s release this Friday on May 30st, 2025 on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. This is also your last chance to pre-order if you want the special pre-order “It’s Raining!” gesture if that’s something you’re interested in.
