The Pearl and Marina Splatoon 2 Amiibos Will Give Exclusive Gear Inspired By Octo Expansion, a New Rhythm Mode, and a Special Picture Feature

Splatoon 2 has had a lot of content added this Summer. In addition to getting constant weapon, gear, and map updates, the first Splatoon 2 DLC, Octo Expansion, hit just last month. To add more content to the Summer fun, the Pearl and Marina amiibos announced earlier this year will be releasing next week, and their perks have finally been unveiled.

Ahead of the amiibo release, fans were given a taste of what they have to look forward to with the upcoming amiibos. As with every amiibo, special gear is granted when you scan a figure, and the gear granted by Pearl and Marina respectively will grant players gear inspired by the duos outfits from the Octo Expansion. Splatoon amiibos have historically had players complete various challenges to unlock the special gear (as well as some extra cash to boot). As a result these amiibos will likely be no different for unlocking its specific in-game content. Also, a new mode will be added to Splatoon 2‘s built-in rhythm mini-game.

In addition to this unlockable content, a brand new feature will be added to these two amiibos. Players will be able to pose with both Pearl and Marina in a special photo mode. Each character will have two specific scenes for picture taking. Each scene will consist of their default clothing that they sport for their normal news casts, and they will be standing in Inkopolis in the day time. The other scene has each character sporting their Octo Expansion outfits, and while still in Inkopolis, the day will turn to night, and the mood switches from a calm afternoon to a lively part.

The Pearl and Marina Splatoon 2 amiibo pack will be releasing next week on July 13. Those interested can still capitalize on the $24.99 pre-orders that are going on, and it might not be a bad idea to jump on it, for highly anticipated amiibos have a reputation for selling out of stock quickly.
